Microsoft is about to finalize the changes in Redstone 4 , which would be the first major update of Windows 10 in 2018 and could end up being called Spring Creators Update . This means that the work in Redstone 5has begun, and for the test, the members of the Insider program who were in Skip Ahead can now install the first build of that version.
This was announced today by Microsoft , the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17604 is the first of Redstone 5 and with it also comes the new beta testers program for Windows 10 apps .
The 17064 build (Redstone 5) does not have big changes or new features compared to the last Redstone 4 build released last week, as well as improvements in the emojis and control over the permissions of the applications. But, mark the starting point for the beginning of the tests of the second great update of Windows 10 this year.
Windows App Preview
Of this we had spoken last week, the new program called Windows App Previews for now is also limited to Insiders, but will allow users to opt for preliminary versions of a dozen Windows 10 base applications . At the moment this is the list:
- Opinion center
- Photos
- Sticky Notes
- Tips
- 3D Paint
- Alarms and clock
- Calculator
- Camera
- Voice recorder
- Mixed reality viewer
To start testing these versions you must go to the settings of the app and in the “About” section use the button to access the preliminary version. The only detail is that there will be a limited number of posts for this, so if you get that the app you want to try is full, you should wait for more gaps to open.
