5 More Trends We’ll All Be Wearing from the Catwalks This Spring

Now we take a look at five more key trends from the catwalks that are going make their way to our shops and wardrobes this spring and summer 2019. In a world of political and climate concerns, the clothes we wear are our chance to brighten things up a bit. From neon to sequins, it’s time to go large or go home.

1. Neon

Neon is probably going to be one of the most stand-out trends of the summer. Everyone loves neon, especially in this ‘80s-loving fashion era, so if you haven’t tried it yet now is your chance. There’s no limit to where you may encounter neon – tops, dresses, skirts and even shorts – but the true fashionistas will go for total double-neon.

2. Fringes

Fringes were seen on the catwalks on coats, jeans, bags and dresses. This adornment has its origins in the cowboy clothing from the Old West, but it’s a statement look that comes back every so often to make waves on the catwalks. If you want to play it safe with this trend, opt for a handbag rather than a fully fringed dress.

3. Raincoats

Just because it’s summer, it doesn’t mean it won’t rain. Anyone who has been to a festival or planned a summer wedding can attest to that. And what’s the point of buying a great summer outfit and then covering it up with a manky old coat? Prepare for rain by buying an on-trend oversized mac – perfect for pairing with sunglasses and heels.

4. Puffed Shoulders

Moving away from boxy padded shoulders, we are seeing more feminine puffy shoulders on jackets, shirts and maxi dresses such as those from https://www.axparis.com/collections/maxi-dresses. Take note: puffed-up shoulders are a not to be worn on rainy days – you need to have these shoulders out on display.

5. Sequins

No longer confined to the Xmas party dress, sequins are now a summer thing too. Sequined trainers? Why not? Full-on sequin maxi dress? Life is too short not to wear sequins.

Everything in this list makes a loud statement, from neon dresses to sequinned shoes, but if you prefer a more subtle look with a nod to current trends, hunt out accessories which boast these details rather than going for the full outfit.
