Vitamin D for the prevention of cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is a relatively common disease in women. The cervix is part of the reproductive system of women and connects the uterus to the vagina. By having annual balance sheets and exams, you can hopefully detect precancerous cells early on. If you develop pain, you should consult your doctor immediately.

Symptoms

Some of cervical cancer symptoms are abnormal vaginal bleeding, increased vaginal discharge, and pelvic pain. If a normal examination detects cancer, you can undergo a colposcopy (an exam where the doctor can examine the uterus) or you can have a biopsy where tissue is removed for further testing.

Cancer Treatments cancerAs with most treatments against cancer, options include radiotherapy, chemotherapy or surgery, or a combination of all these elements. If the cancer is advanced, you may need surgery to remove the tumor or, if necessary, a hysterectomy to remove your entire uterus. Radiotherapy or chemotherapy may be used to kill cancer cells remaining after surgery.

Preventing Cervical Cancer

Although cervical cancer may not be entirely preventable, there are ways to reduce your risk. The best method of prevention is to have regular Pap tests and follow up if you have irregular vaginal smears. A Pap test is a test used to examine cells collected from the cervix. Regular testing is recommended for women 18 and older.

Another easy way to reduce your risk of cervical cancer is to limit the amount of sexual partners you have and use a condom during sex. In the practice of safe sex, you limit your risk of market HPV (human papilloma virus or). HPV is a group of viruses that can lead to various types of cancer.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D is essential for your overall health. Vitamin D is used to maintain normal blood levels, help calcium absorption and help form and maintain strong bones. In recent studies, it was determined that vitamin D may also protect against osteoporosis, hypertension, and cancer.

At that time, the use of vitamin D for cancer prevention is being studied, suggesting that there may be a link between cancer and vitamin D. However, it remains unclear whether a regular supplement will actually prevent cancer or whether vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of developing certain forms of cancer.

In the test which is being reported, it has been shown that normal cervical cells and cervical cancer cells can synthesize a form of vitamin D, which can help control the growth of cancer tissues.

Another important aspect of vitamin D is that it prevents the formation of new blood vessels, which can lead to further development of cancerous tumors. This method of prevention is still the subject of research because it is unclear whether too much vitamin D can lead to other complications.
